Social Media and the Election in Iran Print E-mail
pmiran.pngWith an election watched around the world set for Friday, Iran's presidential campaign has suddenly morphed into a bitter referendum on Ahmadinejad. Unprecedented personal attacks have erupted, the first-ever televised debates have been held, and political rumors abound. In the process, the election has exposed deep social fault lines in this country of 66 million, which is one of President Barack Obama's toughest foreign policy challenges.  The social media coverage of the elections are much more widespread outside Iran than in! I had 18 updates today relating to Irans elections on both facebook and Linked in - Politics is social media these days - The Social Media Guru that managed the Obama campaign is on his way to Dubai to speak at the New Media Event in October - Interesting to get his thoughts on the current Iranian social media wave....
