Mlogging may be here sooner than you think
I have been doing quite a lot of thinking about location based services and web interfaces of late, not exactly the stuff of dreams unless you are a nerd until you realize that it’s soon going to be possible for you to place a Blog on a restaurants table for other mobile users to pick up.
Using the H2O Loc8* technology and the XTIFY Client its feasible now that we could create a blog repository that associates a blog post to a fixed GPS co-ordinate to a mobile phone. Users using web based LBS could then access the blogs when they are within a pre-set vicinity of that co-ordinate. All of a sudden the repository becomes a mobile Blogging storage space; you can probably get down to a few meters with a GPS handheld device and within a few hundred with a standard LBS triangulation on cell towers.
What does it mean, well its feasible right now that you could walk into a restaurant and check its blogs “This place stinks the service is terrible!” a sort of virtual mobile graffiti that’s pinned to a fixed GPS co-ordinate rather than a web page. Interesting stuff – I may even start working on this in the next few days.
